Cyclists will be able to use the road, as there will be bike/pedestrian lanes on both sides, and vehicles will need to reduce speed to 30 km/h in that section. You can find more information about this project below: Project Overview We are removing and replacing Flood Box E (i.e., the drainage system) off Inglis Drive, which provides access to our South Terminal. This replacement will provide flood mitigation and increase climate resilience on Sea Island. This project requires a temporary reconfiguration of Inglis Drive to ensure construction has complete access to the flood box and discharge pipes in the area. Please be advised, the reconfigured roadway with a reduced speed limit of 30 km/h will open on the morning of August 8th, 2022 and will be in place until early 2023. We have a traffic management plan in place to ensure a smooth transition. Proposed Schedule Work on this project starts in the summer of 2022 and working hours are from 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. Completion of the project is scheduled for early 2023. Construction Activities To minimize the impact to operations, the contractor will be working within the construction site. Activities include:
We thank you for your patience while we conduct this work. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you, Melanie on behalf of Community Relations Vancouver Airport Authority
